Beth Prevedel

I was born and raised in FL, but have deep roots in TN., where I have called home since 2007. The Valley is where I live, and where I find comfort surrounded by the Smoky Mountains and my ancestors.

Hobbies include playing the Native American style flute, photography, drums, music and hand crafts.

The love of working with my hands allows me to create, what I call Primitive Crafts, out of soft leathers, turtle shells, beads, antler, feathers, gourds, and various other animal parts. All my leather bags are cut and sewn by hand, not by machine. Patterns are in my head and seem to change each time I cut. I make Dreamcatchers too, and find weaving them very relaxing. I am teaching myself how to use a wood lathe, currently turning handles for rattles and drum beaters, and hope sometime in the near future to turn bowls also.
